We specialise in barn conversions, having created over 30 in the past 25 years. Our most recent is this conversion of a pole barn and cottage in Humshaugh to form a single dwelling.
In 2015 we completed work on the Lord Crewe Arms in Blanchland, where we were the main contractor for the £1.5 million refurbishment of the 12th century Grade II listed building. The fascinating restoration of this hotel and restaurant required close work with an archaeological team to ensure the preservation of this historical site. Alongside this we refurbished 4 of the 18th century cottages on site and the ‘Angel’ accommodation across the road.
We have spent the past 10 years working for many local shooting estates including East Allenheads Estates, Weardale Estates, Wemmergill Estates, Cotherstone Estates, Allendale Estates and Ilchester Estates. This work has included the creation of a swimming pool, shooting lodge extensions, lunch huts, bridge preservation, refurbishment of Game Keepers’ cottages and other estate property maintenance.
We enjoyed working with Hartlepool United Football Club to create an extension to their offices at Victoria Park.
Alongside these larger projects we have completed many new builds, extensions, garages, conservatories, orangeries, large complexes of barn conversions and have provided project management. Our most recent included the construction of a kitchen extension in Hexham where we worked closely with a local Hexham architect to create a beautiful kitchen diner. We are currently working on the refurbishment of one of the oldest houses in Humshaugh.
